February faves: What I’m Loving This Month

February might be the shortest month of the year but there are a few products and goodies that I’ve recently discovered that I’m in absolute love with. Even though these might not be the newest items on the block, they’re newly loved by me and I’m sharing why. From skincare and makeup to fitness and even edibles, here’s my list of current faves!

Sunday Riley Good Genes

Before you say anything, I know I’m late to the Good Genes party. This lactic acid serum has been a mainstay on my vanity for the past month and I don’t even know how I lived without it. I was nervous to introduce a new acid into my routine but it’s been great so far and doesn’t irritate my skin. In fact, I notice an even brighter and even complexion — who doesn’t want that?!

Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Mask

If your skin is starting to show the negative effects of the icy wind and dry weather, it’s time to get your hands on the Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Mask. It might not look like much more than green slime but after 15 minutes on your face, you’ll look like you just had a facial thanks to its soothing capabilities. I like to use this mask about 2-3 times a week in the evenings after I take off my day’s makeup. Follow with the rest of your skincare routine and you’ll wake up with an unmistakable glow!

Everlane Perform 24/7 Leggings

Let me be perfectly honest — I despise lounging around in leggings. I have lots of friends who swear they’re the new sweatpants but not for me. That was until I slipped into a pair of the Everlane Perform 24/7 Leggings. Perfect for my morning pilates, these leggings are also so comfortable and have easily transitioned into my WFH wardrobe.

Dime Pilates

Speaking of pilates, since I’m not quite ready to hit the gym yet, I’ve dialled into a new workout platform called Dime Pilates. Founded by Maddy Cassidy, one of my fave trainers at Sweat & Tonic here in TO, Dime has loads of on-demand pilates-centred workouts available for you to choose from. The classes are easy to follow, fun, and don’t require any complicated (or pricy!) equipment.

ILIA Limitless Lash Lengthening Mascara

Try one mascara and you’ve tried them all, right? That’s what I thought too but I was sooo wrong. My eyes always used to get a bit stingy by the end of a long day of wearing mascara and eye makeup but since I switched to Ilia’s clean mascara, there’s been no stinging in sight. What’s even better is that the formula fans out lashes and gives them length like I’ve never seen before.

Olli Caramelts

One of my favourite pandemic discoveries was edibles. Yes, I know I’m well late to the party but better late than never. I used to shy away from edibles because the ones I had tried always had a strange weed after-taste but after sampling some from Olli, I fell in edible-love. My all-time faves are the Passionfruit Caramelts that I honestly wish I could eat like candy. They taste so good and aren’t too sweet thanks to the tangy passionfruit and the 5mg are perfect for taking the edge off.

Skinceuticals Blemish + Age Defense

In addition to all of life’s amazing challenges, another that popped up for me in the past couple of months was hormonal acne on my chin and neck. I tried all sorts of products, facials, treatments, peels and some helped but nothing was a sure fix. One product that really did make a noticeable difference and I saw results with is the Skinceuticals Blemish + Age Defense Serum. I use it sparingly on just my chin and neck (because it can be a bit drying) and it’s been my new holy grail.
